Lynn and Dave go into Ethan' s room.
Ethan is sitting on the ceiling and his T.V. isn't plugged into the wall but flickering with action and sound.
His parents freak out and fall back against the door. Lynn is overwhelmed by the sight and passes out. Dave looks on in amazement mixed with awed fright.
Lynn awakes in a droggy panic with her hands on her head.
Ethan isn't even aware of them in the room. He keeps interacting with his game.
“How, how, how is this possible.. what, what the heck, oh my, oh my, I can't, I can't!” Lynn
“This isn't real. This isn't happening.. how can this, I mean, what could, no way, holy crap!” Dave
“Oh David... what do we do... who do we tell, how does Ethan understand the capacity of this? This is normal to him. What if this gets out to the public because of those aides? Our son will be dissected in a government lab. We will lose him!” Lynn
“Breathe Lynn, stop and breathe, there is always an answer. We will get through this and understand just like we did with Ethan before knowing this!” Dave
“How can we?! It isn't like his autism will mask something this unexplainable! How much bigger can the arrow over his head be letting all know he is different?! There is no solution to this. There isn't an answer! We will have to keep him locked up under house arrest. That is the only way he will be safe!” Lynn
“We can't do that. He won't gain anything just held up in here. We still have the meeting with the Stockwell Prodigy Center. We have been on the waiting list for 2 years. This place will give him social skills and help we never imagined. Whatever this is, he is still our son. The crazy ceiling sitter and all, we keep living. So we freaking settle ourselves down and get our minds set for tomorrow!” Dave
“I don't know Dave. I'm scared! This is just too much. Autism I finally got adjusted to, but super-powered autism” Lynn
...(she just starts crying.) Dad holds mom
Dave stands up and walks out of the room. He comes back with a can of grape soda for Ethan.
“Ethan, do you want a can of grape soda and a bag of chips?” Dave
Ethan stops playing his game and stares at the soda and chips. The T.V. turns off and he floats down to the floor with the T.V. still on the ceiling. Ethan takes the goodies and walks over to his bed. He sits, eats ,and drinks his soda while rocking back and forth. He finishes his goodies and lies down in bed. Mom and dad stare at him, speechless.
Without touching any of the switches, Ethan turns off the lights with his parents still in the room. He belches and says, “Grape, yea grape soda.”
